Neville Joinery have recently completed their installation at the Bath House in Hackney, London. The old Bath House closed in the 1960’s, and was then used as a community centre for Vietnamese refugees in the 1980’s. It then continued to provide much needed services, such as employment training and learning, along with being a popular local restaurant for 30 years.
Neville Joinery’s manager Andy Knowles picks up the story: “Appointed by ASH Contracting, it was good to be part of the project to bring this old building, now providing a social space and community kitchen for the local East Asian community, back to life. This was a particularly challenging manufacture and install due to the scale of the unit models - designed for the storage of games equipment and table tennis tables. As well as this, co-ordinating our details with services for the concealed kitchen equipment and the movable partition wall, was also challenging. The storage units were fitted with the required natural look, manufactured in birch plywood, in a clear matt lacquer, and the bar counter in a hard-wearing polyurethane paint finish, with stainless steel worktops.”
